Livestock
Overview:
When looking into becoming more self sufficient many people begin to wonder about livestock. Quite a few begin daydreaming about building a chicken coup, buying a dozen chickens, and getting eggs of every color for breakfast. Others wish they had the space for their own herd of cattle, living out their cowboy dreams. A few even imagine starting a picturesque "Old McDonald" type of farm, with a dairy cow, a pig, a horse, and basically every other animal imaginable.
But what if you don't have room for chickens? What if you wanted to start producing your own meat but cows are too big and expensive? Whats the diffrence between meat sheep and hair sheep? What is a dual purpose breed and why should I care?
All of these questions and more are to be answered in this section.
